PROJECT AT A GLANCE

Completed in 2012, the $48 million renovation and expansion of Washington Park transformed a formerly underused green space into an 8-acre civic anchor in the heart of Over-the-Rhine. The project added two new acres to the park and introduced a wide range of public amenities that reimagined the space as both a daily retreat and a regional destination.

Key features include a 450-space underground parking garage, a performance stage, interactive water feature, civic lawn, event plaza, dog park, and a restored historic bandstand. New pathways, seasonal landscaping, and a playground further enhance the park’s accessibility and appeal for all ages.

Positioned next to Music Hall and the School for Creative & Performing Arts, Washington Park’s restoration was a catalyst for surrounding development and continues to attract residents, businesses, and visitors. The project represents a successful public-private partnership and a lasting investment in the vibrancy of Cincinnati’s urban core.
